When deep down in the core of your being
You believe that your soulmate exists,
there is no limit to the ways
he or she can enter your life.
There are so many surprising features about this wedding I would love to include and highlight on this blog that I have been busy for almost an hour now, finding it challenging to keep it brief and concise!
Sam booked me almost a year ago – (you may remember her from the TV show Sharp Shooter being a professional photographer herself) for a wedding that was intended to be a surprise for family and friends! I can only imagine how difficult it was for Sam & Ian to keep their own wedding a secret… sheer determination if not torture …
The couple, being renowned for throwing extraordinary birthday parties, invited all their closest friends & family supposedly for Sam’s 50th birthday party at the exquisite Morrells Boutique Venue.
The most amazing vibe & cheer filled the elegant venue when the Bride, a la Birthday Girl, walked down the aisle to marry her soul mate. Sam & Ian have been engaged for 17 years YES 17 YEARS – Sam remarked in her speech she that they “probably just forgot to get married”! It was an amazing and touching experience as everybody cheered while some quickly drew some hankies for unexpected joyful tears. I also needed a tissue!
The wedding and decor reflected a magnificent French flair -which was swoontastic. The remarkably talented artist, Alan Simpson discreetly painted watercolour artwork throughout the day. As the ‘Thank You’-gifts for the guests, Sam had personally written their vows on small plates – what a special memento! The whiskey tasting for the gentlemen in the Cigar Bar was an extra-ordinary event for me- what a superb idea! The ladies, likewise, had a fun champagne celebration. While surprises were a core feature of this ‘surprise wedding’, the First Dance was not to be the exception. A romantic close dance soon turned into a flash mob of note to Apple Bottom Jeans!
Asking Ian when he feels most loved by Sam, his answer was: 24/7 365! Sam again, truly believes they REALLY were meant to be together. They ARE soul mates and they ARE one. Wow, this is just one amazing story… Sam & Ian, I CAN really see that the love you have for each other has a depth to it that one cannot measure. It was an honour to be part of your wedding, and I feel humbled & very blessed. Lots of love! x
